At the end of March, the finalists of the POP Star competition gathered at ppm factum for the gala announcement of the 2023 winners. This was only the second final event in the competition’s history, attended by most representatives of nominated displays from Czech and international companies. The event was hosted by Jiří Beran, Managing Partner of INSTORE CONSULTING EU, who welcomed Activation Managers of the winning displays from the past year, agency representatives, and members of the judging panel.
Our company DAGO won the silver medal as the brand Radegast from Plzeňský Prazdroj took 2nd place with a project you know well from us. Lighting and sound effects, innovative elements, flowing water, and a statue of the god Radegast offered customers a unique in-store experience.
What does Ľuboš Plačko say about the award? “The Radegast display triumphed twice in 2023. First at the Popai CE Awards 2023, where it won in the Light Communication category, and now with 2nd place at the POP STAR competition, which focuses on secondary displays. This confirms that our display is unique among POP media. I and all my colleagues at DAGO are truly delighted with this recognition.”
This year, a special “playfulness” award was presented for the first time, won by Kofola for the Jupík display, which we also produced at DAGO. Daniela Dlouhá, Trade Marketing Manager Retail CZ&SK at Kofola, commented on the award: “With the Jupík shop-in-shop, we aimed to make shopping more enjoyable for parents and our little ones through an interactive display featuring a crawl tunnel and smiling fruit characters that also served as a photo point. This POS design shows how Kofola wants to continue communicating through in-store displays — functionally and creatively with interactive communication.”
Marka Končitík, managing director of our company, was pleasantly surprised by the award and adds: “Our thanks go primarily to the client – Kofola – who approached us with the brief for the Jupík SIS within our long-term cooperation. We are very happy that we entertained not only the children in stores but also the expert jury of the P.O.P. Star competition.”
